Looking for an EP to jam with while on a quick break? “Santan Street” by zyun is a new release that you might wanna check out.

Based in Butuan City in Mindanao, 19-year-old Thaddeus Campos’s two-track EP was a fruit of accumulated ideas from patience after “idling and pondering”. He said that he took so long to finish the project that he discovered ideas along the way, which was reflected in the songs “Snowy Avenue” and “Remember”.

Aside from using “subtle ear candies” in the songs, zyun also shared his story about how a simple walk outside turns into music inspired by the home he once lived in.
“I was very lonely at the time and I was going outside for a walk and I felt kinda sentimental during it and so it reminded me of the barangay I used to live at (P.S. It wasn't really [called] Santan Street but it was near there) and that gave me an idea to make this EP.” — zyun

“It [the EP] would say ‘Hey man, ‘bat ang lungkot mo, oh eto may pamasahe kana’,” zyun said in an interview with the Chronicle on how would Santan Street talk to its listeners, reflecting the organic, home-nature of the EP.
